highlights and changes in 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Developments in European light transport<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The year 2025 brings big changes for hauliers operating in the light commercial vehicle segment up to 3.5 tonnes.<br>New European Union regulations are increasing licensing, documentation and security requirements.<br>For small companies this is a challenge, but also a real opportunity to grow in a more professional transport environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>New EU rules for light transport vehicles<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>From 2025, vehicles weighing between 2.5 and 3.5 tonnes are included in the part of the so-called '3.5 tonnes'. <strong>Mobility Package<\/strong>.<br>This means having to meet the same requirements as larger trucks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Key changes:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>mandatory <strong>Community licence (EU-vergunning)<\/strong> for international transport,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the driver must have <strong>employment contract<\/strong> i <strong>remuneration in accordance with the country of work<\/strong>,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the vehicle is obliged to <strong>return to the country of registration every 8 weeks<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The new regulations are intended to reduce unfair competition and improve working conditions in the transport sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Administrative duties of the carrier<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To obtain an EU transport licence, a company must prove:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>financial capacity<\/strong>: a minimum of \u20ac1,800 for the first vehicle and \u20ac900 for each additional vehicle,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>good reputation<\/strong> - no serious infringements or penalties,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>professional qualifications<\/strong> - qualified transport manager.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, the company must have <strong>a viable location<\/strong> in the country of registration, including office, parking and administrative documentation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Control of cabotage and working time<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Inspections in countries such as Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands are stepping up controls <strong>cabotage<\/strong> -
